Taiye & Lola are Nigerian-American twin sisters and proud co-founders of the award-winning company, The T.L. Hospitality Group, LLC. DBA as Urbanity Lush – a Philadelphia-based Airbnb, experiences, and hospitality-lifestyle brand.

What started as a side hustle to help pay off student loans turned into a business with a mission to change the world one guest at a time.

Outside of being working professionals, these twins have served as Airbnb hosts for over a decade and, in that time, have met and exchanged ideas and cultures with people across the globe and country.

Both guests and hosts have come away from these encounters with a better understanding of each other differences, empathy for each other stories, and a celebration of both of their unique cultures.

Urbanity Lush is their attempt to recreate these powerful experiences and scale them for larger audiences to experience their brand of hospitality designed to create the cultural allies our world needs for social change.

Our mission is to curate a community that makes culture & hospitality accessible to everyone via our curated Airbnb stays, travel guides, and online/in-person cultural immersive experiences–A place for culture connoisseurs, travelist, and lovers of all things hospitality.

For the past seven years, these sisters have honed their love of cultural exchange, the arts, adventure travel, and home hosting into a brand that their guests say fosters “real connections and lasting memories.” From internationals to locals and even friends who have booked a stay at their rental, all come away feeling like they have been hosted well.

Since COVID-19 hit, they have spent time reimaging how to deliver the same warm and authentic hospitality they have become known for. Still, this time with purpose in mind–to use hospitality to help break down cultural and racial barriers that keep us from celebrating our diversity as individuals and producing the empathy, understanding, and kindness necessary to grow cultural allies we need to change our world for the better.

We envision a world of incredible people made more kind and empathic because of our curated Airbnb stays and experiences, where individual cultural identity is embraced, celebrated, and shared with the world unapologetically.

Believing that the world is a “lush” cultural garden begging to be explored and plucked, they take guests both on in-person and online on cultural tours that engage the senses through cooking classes, local and ethnic food tastings, and tailor-made pop-up experiences, all while creating the space necessary to engage in what the call, “Lush Conversations,” aka taboo topics around race and culture in the hopes of inspiring kindness, empathy and understanding for each others lived experiences.
